Kharkiv (or Kharkov) has a population of about 1.5 million people and seems to be the second largest city in Ukraine (after Kiev - the capital). Kharkiv is located in the northeastern Ukraine in 40 km. from the Russian border, between Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk to the south and Kiev to the west. Public transport includes buses, minibuses and metro (underground). Railway connects Kharkiv with many cities of Ukraine and Russia. Inside Ukraine there're daily services to Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Simferopol and others. Kharkov has an International airport, situated not far from the city center. There're daily flights to Kiev and Moscow.
